The Hollywood Gossip Week in Review: December 5-11, 2009

If you like watching a good old-fashioned train wreck, the fall from grace of Tiger Woods has been one for the ages. And it shows zero signs of abating.

Needless to say, Woods and his many mistresses dominated celebrity gossip again as one of the year’s biggest scandals keeps on getting worse (for him).

We’ve got Tiger’s drama – and everything else – covered in The Hollywood Gossip’s Week in Review! Some highlights from the week in celebrity news:

With three mistresses already linked to Woods, Jamie Jungers became #4 last weekend … and was later revealed to be a high-priced call girl.
In a 48-hour span, Mindy Lawton, Cori Rist and Holly Sampson (also a rumored escort at Jungers’ agency) upped the mistress count to seven.
Elin Woods’ mom was randomly rushed to the hospital as rumors swirled that Tiger’s wife moved out on him … which few would blame her for.
Tiger was linked to porn star Joslyn James and later in the week, call girl Loredana Jolie, with several other mistresses waiting in the wings.
Perhaps the most embarrassing developments, though, were emails and text messages Woods sent to Jaimee Grubbs and Rachel Uchitel.
While Tiger preferred to talk dirty to Jaimee, he was apparently falling for Rachel. She says she’s going to get tested for STDs immediately.
Lastly, Woods’ attorneys are moving to stop the release of nude photos and videos of him. Check out our list of mistresses for dirt on each!

ABC continues to take heat over its handling of Adam Lambert.
Christmas totally came early: A judge silenced Jon Gosselin!
Barack Obama accepted his Nobel Prize. Some were happy.
Fashion faux-pas of the week: Miley flashing the Queen.
Billy Joel’s daughter Alexa Ray OD’d, but is better now.
In cheating news not involving Tiger, Jenny Sanford left South Carolina Gov. Mark, and USC football coach Pete Carroll denied a grad student fling.
Must-see TV of the week: Jersey Shore. It’s so terrible it’s beyond terrible. Yet we challenge you to turn it off. The guidettes will have you hooked!
Couples watch: Holly Madison and Benji Madden were seen together; Tila Tequila and Casey Johnson are (supposedly) getting hitched; Hulk Hogan is engaged and Mickey Rourke might be; Jessica Simpson and Billy Corgan are dating.
It was a busy week for celebrity babies, with Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen and Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett had their first (both boys), while Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed baby #19 after an emergency delivery!

Ben and Jen Lunch Apart, Party Together

Jennifer Garner was in charge of Violet’s school run yesterday morning, though little Seraphina skipped out on going along this time around. Ben has been doing his fair share of carpool duty during Violet’s birthday week, but he spent his afternoon dealing with some unexpected car troubles after a lunch with friends. He and Jennifer teamed up last night for the Children’s Defense Fund’s Beat the Odds ceremony, where she posed on the red carpet before meeting him at their table. Elsewhere in LA, Ben’s pal Matt Damon was playing host at his Invictus premiere with Brad, Angelina, and Maddox. Ben will be center of attention soon at his own film’s screening, when The Company Men debuts at Sundance.

Maddox Joins the Adults Brad, Angelina, Matt, Clint For Invictus

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie weren’t the only special guests at last night’s Invictus premiere in LA - they brought their oldest son Maddox to pose and mingle on the red carpet. The eight-year-old was decked out in a fedora just like his dad often wears, though lately Brad’s all about the beanie which he wore for date night with Angelina earlier in the week.

The movie’s stars Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman, as well as director Clint Eastwood, were all fresh off Wednesday night’s NYC screening. Between publicity stops with Luciana on his arm always, Matt’s still busy filming The Adjustment Bureau in NYC. Invictus is getting Oscar buzz already which hopefully means a lot more of these handsome faces during award season.

Michelle Williams Chosen To Play Marilyn Monroe

Michelle Williams has been asked to portray Marilyn Monroe on the big screen. The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actress has been lined up to play tragic screen icon Marilyn in movie ‘My Week With Marilyn’ – which will focus on the making of her 1957 film ‘The Prince And The Showgirl’ with Laurence Olivier.

Although Michelle has been offered the part by director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt, the 29-year-old has asked for some time decide whether or not the part is right for her.

Simon is due to meet with her in 10 days to receive her decision. If she accepts the role, Michelle will start filming in London in June.

What do you think? Will Michelle make a good Marilyn? That is such a HUGE role – big shoes to fill. I’m not sure ANYONE would be able to do Marilyn justice.

The storyline – which was written by Adrian Hodges and is backed by BBC Films – is based on a diary written by Colin Clark while he worked for Laurence – who directed, produced and starred in the film – as third assistant director. However, his unofficial role was to keep Marilyn out of Laurence’s way.

The diary has already been published but details of one specific week were left out. This missing time frame will become the basis of the story.

Scarlett Johansson and Amy Adams were also considered for the role.

Something you might want to see? I am a little obsessed with Marilyn, so I will most certainly be checking this one out.
