2012 Golden Globe Awards: The Show, The Winners

Gathering together to honor the year’s best in cinema, the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards winners have officially been named.

With the event taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday evening (January 15), Ricky Gervais tended to hosting duties while “The Descendants” was named as Best Drama Motion Picture and “The Artist” ended up taking home the top prize of Best Comedy or Musical Motion Picture.

Other big winners at the Golden Globe Awards were George Clooney, who was named as Best Actor for his effort in “The Descendants” while Meryl Streep was doted with Best Actress honors for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady”.

Meanwhile, television’s top accolades went to “Modern Family” as Best Comedy TV Series and “Homeland” as Best Drama TV Series.

Following a stunning display of fashion on the arrivals carpet, the stars filed into Nokia Theatre for the 38th People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night (January 11).

With Kaley Cuoco hosting the ceremony, the fan’s favorites were revealed one by one with rockin’ performances by Demi Lovato and Faith Hill.

As for the night’s big winners, Emma Stone was selected as Favorite Movie Actress while “How I Met Your Mother” nabbed honors for Favorite TV Comedy.

In the music categories, the top choices ended up being Miss Lovato for Favorite Pop Artist and Rihanna as Favorite R&B Artist while Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” took home Favorite Album of the Year.
