Rihanna is seen here shooting for a Barbados tourism campaign on the east coast of the Caribbean island yesterday (August 9, 2012).
The singer also has flown five of her favorite fans out to her home island of Barbados to join her for a vacation. The 24-year-old star made the gesture to recognize the huge amounts of money the chosen few spend following her around the world.
Rihanna also just filmed and interview on the island with Oprah Winfrey.
She gave the popular talk show host a private tour of her native island when she visited her for a special in-depth interview for an upcoming episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. Rihanna teased fans on twitter by posting a picture of the pair in her car along with the caption: “Look who popped up in my hometown Barbados…Top notch.”
The pop star just topped Forbes list of social networking superstars. The magazine used a simple formula, adding a star’s Twitter followers with his or her Facebook fans.
Rihanna came out on top, with her 23.8 million Twitter followers and 59.6 million Facebook fans helping her edge out Lady Gaga, who came it at No. 2 with 28 million Twitter followers and 53 million Facebook fans.

During his performance at Jones Beach in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday night (June 16th), Drake spoke briefly on stage about his scuffle with Chris Brown at W.i.P bar, which is currently closed due to code violations, according to CBS News. Tony Parker was also involved, and suffered a scratched retina.
When I woke up this morning, I had to think about a lot of things,” Drake said, according to New York Daily News. “But the only thing I gave a f— about was that I was in New York City tonight.
Drake was seen leaving the Sons of Essex bar in NYC on Saturday (June 16th) 2012. That same day, a source close to the NYC said that the authorities are “clearly focusing on [Drake].”

Though she looked to be having a good time at the Esquire U.K. photoshoot, July cover girl Rihanna was none too pleased to answer questions about ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. ”Some people felt it sent the wrong message … You’d gone back to someone who put you in the hospital,” the journalist told Rihanna, referring to reports that the two reunited after Brown physically abused the Barbados singer in 2009.
“Oh really? Did I?” Rihanna snapped back, according to the Huffington Post. “Did I? Did I? Did I? … Okay. In a completely professional environment. And on a complete professional note. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that’s a whole different discussion … I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid.”
Still, the journalist pressed on for more out of Rihanna, which really pissed her off.
“This is turning into a tacky interview,” Rihanna finally said. “What do you really want to talk about? I’m not here to [talk] about messy s**t … It upsets me that you keep asking the same kind of questions about stuff that’s trivial. What’s there to talk about? Are all your questions like that?”
