Brothers Nick and Drew Lachey took to “On Air with Ryan…

Brothers Nick and Drew Lachey took to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” this morning to announce the reunion. The group has been putting down rumors of a reunion concert for a while now, and Nick actually responded via Twitter to let down excited fans.

“So psyched to see all the excitement for a 98 degree tour, but the only tour I’ll be doing this summer is at baby’s ‘r us!” the star tweeted.

Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa are expecting their first child in the late summer or early fall of this year, so hopefully the performance at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA on August 18 doesn’t coincide with the delivery! Drew, the winner of the second season of Dancing with the Stars, is definitely a contender for a spot on the Dancing with the Stars All-Star show. Luckily, filming doesn’t start until September so if he does end up in the cast, it will not conflict with the concert.

Keep reading to see what Nick and Drew have to say about the one-time reunion concert.

The brothers gave Ryan Seacrest the inside scoop this morning. Nick’s tweet wasn’t in fact to throw people off, he actually didn’t think the reunion was going to happen.

He cleared up many lingering questions when he said, “I didn’t say we weren’t going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together. I just wanted to make sure that they understood that a full tour wasn’t happening this summer, but obviously very excited to announce that we’re doing this big festival in Hershey in August. So, that will be our one and only appearance.”

Drew said, “We’re very excited about the opportunity, and we’ve been toying around with the idea for a couple years…”

Later he went on to add, “Most of us have families or kids on the way, so it really is about making sure that everybody can take care of their own responsibilities at home, and with their family, and with their private lives. If we can get together and do more that would be great. We’ve missed working with each other, performing together. So, we’re always open to that opportunity.”

Other bands set to perform at the Summer Mixtape Festival include Kelly Clarkson, NKOTBSB, Carly Rae Jepsen, LL Cool J, The Fray, New Kids on the Block, The Wanted, DJ Pauly D, The Ready Set, and Carolina Liar.

The last two months have seen a sudden spike in boy band news…

The last two months have seen a sudden spike in boy band news with The Wanted and One Direction taking course to rule the world. The two British-Irish groups promise to bring us a boy band showdown like we haven’t seen since the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC went head-to-head for female hearts in the 90?s.

That’s right, long before One Direction was making teen girls go crazy in 2012, we had a bevy of handsome young men with voices like angels swooning the girls of the 90?s. From New Kids On The Block and Boyz II Men, to Hanson and Backstreet Boys, 90?s girls were just as crazy (or more) for boy bands as the current generation of teens. Our mom’s love the Beatles and the Monkees, we love the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, and today’s teens are crazy over One Direction and The Wanted. Boy bands combine two of our favorite things: boys and music, so regardless of time or age, it is a winning combo

The showdown is just beginning between these two fresh acts. As we wait for the game to really begin, open the gallery and let us take some time to remember those boy bands that fought for our hearts during those awkward tween and awesome teen years.
