The little section in my heart reserved for reality television…

The little section in my heart reserved for reality television broke into tiny-baby pieces today when it learned that Adrienne “Mama” Maloof was legally separating from husband of nine years, Dr. Paul Nassif.

We could see a few cracks in their foundation over the past two seasons of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, but we just filed the bitching and fighting under “obnoxious-but-adorable” behavior.  It never occurred to us that this would actually happen.

According to Us Weekly (via wetpaint), Dr. Nassif filed in L.A. County Superior Court today (July 30th), requesting joint custody of their three sons and stating that each party should pay their own legal bills.  As Maloof has said in the past on the Bravo series, the couple do have a prenuptial agreement.

Both parties have released statements, though have steered clear of acknowledging the split on their twitter accounts.  “The welfare of our children is my primary focus as Adrienne and I work through this difficult time,” Nassif said in his statement.  ”I want the best for her and our children and I hope that everyone can respect our privacy away from the cameras.”

Maloof followed Kristen Stewart‘s move and sprinkled a bit of emotion into her own:  ”I’m so sorry that this is happening but my children are my life and sometimes we need to do what’s best for them… It’s an unfortunate situation but, I have to have my kids best interest at heart.”

Bravo’s favorite host Andy Cohen is used to dealing with the…

Bravo’s favorite host Andy Cohen is used to dealing with the craziest people on various reality shows, but one thing he cannot understand is the existence of gay republicans. According to Gay Star News, Cohen visited MSNBC’s news man Chris Matthews and engaged in a political discussion about the GOP.

“It’s something I’ve never understood. I was executive producer of a documentary years ago called Gay Republicans. I’m interested in why someone would support a party that doesn’t necessarily support equality for that person. And I can only assume it’s about the wallet. It’s about ‘I’m a fiscal Republican’,” said Cohen.

Seen here, Andy Cohen arrives at the 2012 Miss USA pageant the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on June 3rd. Looking very strapping in a tailored suit and bow tie, Cohen almost appears too perfect. His face is nearly flawless and he looks like a wax figure. The man sure does know how to strike a pose.

AMC’s "The Killing" Looking Likely to be Renewed for a Second Season

Photobucket

In a an article on AMC passing on picking up any pilots (largely because it has a full slate of shows to air already), Variety’s Stuart Levin writes that the The Killing is looking likely for a second-season pickup.

The Killing premiered to 2.7 million viewers before pulling back to just below 2 million viewers (1.977) million on Sunday. Sure, it’s not exactly The Walking Dead, but neither is anything else on AMC ratings-wise. Its ratings so far are better than the first three seasons of Mad Men, and pretty close to how Mad Men performed in its fourth season.

Are there any fans of this on ONTD? What did you think of this past Sunday’s episode?
