Miley Cyrus is certainly taking in the sights during her visit to the UK.
First there was Blackpool – where she visited a tanning salon and TopShop – and last night she visited the Groucho club in Soho, London.
But before anyone gets the wrong idea, the 17-year-old was only dining at an infamously louche venue most parents would want adolescent children to avoid. The private club, which is notoriously difficult to gain membership to, has a host of celebrity members known for their partying exploits, from Lily Allen, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss to David Walliams.
The Hannah Montana star had popped in after returning to London following her performance at the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool.
She launches the British leg of her Wonder World tour at the weekend.
In the ’90s, the Groucho became famous for supermodels and wild parties – Liam Gallagher allegedly got into a fight with Paul Gascoigne in the club in 2006.It is thought that Miley Cyrus had been invited by a current member to visit the club.
A spokeswoman for the club said it was likely that she had been dining in their restaurant or brasserie with a guest. ‘If she was a guest of a member, she could have been eating in one of the restaurants.’ He added that she would not have been allowed to drink in the bars. ‘We do not endorse under age drinking,’ she said.
